Rose Bud High School started an EAST Program in the Fall of 2007 and is now in its sixth year and going strong. One of the more significant ways in which EAST sets itself apart from other educational programs is that it focuses on the individual growth and development of every student that enters the classroom. No matter where the student's ability lies when entering, the student is expected and pushed to grow. The "learning" in EAST is not found in a textbook. It is developed through students taking their own passionate ideas and developing them into a service-learning project that will benefit their school, community, state, nation, or world...sometimes, all. Students also have state-of-the-art technology and training to help them develop their projects and learning experiences. What you end up with is a student who is self-directed and confident in their ability to make a difference and not afraid to face any opportunity to do so.
